About the role:

This full-time fixed term position will provide the opportunity for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to take a major role in two experiments, the Simons Array and SPT-3G, which are designed to make precise measurements of the polarisation of the cosmic microwave background. These B-modes are a promising probe of the neutrino masses (through gravitational lensing on small angular scales), inflation (through gravitational waves on large angular scales), and more exotic physics such as cosmic birefringence.

The successful applicant will collaborate with international co-Investigators on the Simons Array and South Pole Telescope (SPT) projects. A fraction of the time will be available for independent research projects.

The School of Physics (the School) is a partner in the ARC Centres of Excellence ASTRO-3D, OzGrav and Dark Matter Particle Physics, and provides a vibrant collaborative environment. The School collaborates with researchers around the globe to address some of the most fundamental problems today in astro- and particle physics. In addition to the SPT, the School works on the Murchison Widefield Array radio telescope in Western Australia. The School is also actively involved in the LHC at CERN, with substantial expertise in neutrino and ‘Beyond the standard model’ physics. The Opportunity

• Managing the topic and content inputs including design of the core and elective approach for a stream of CA X program subjects

About ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S) is a new, cross-disciplinary, $32 million national research centre, which aims to create the knowledge and strategies necessary for responsible, ethical, and inclusive automated decision-making. Funded by the Australian Research Council from 2020 to 2026, ADM+S is hosted at RMIT in Melbourne, with nodes in seven other Australian universities. About You & The Role

Perform competitive research and development activities relevant to the Centre with multidisciplinary researchers leading to high quality refereed journals, reports and/or books;

Evidence of excellent track record in research and scientific investigations including publications in high quality Q1 peer reviewed journals and conference contributions as ranked by CORE in AI, machine learning, and data mining, such as ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, AAAI, KDD, WWW, WSDM, and other related top A* conferences;

Strong interest in the technical and societal problems related to the Fairness, Accountability, Transparency and Ethics (FATE) in AI, particularly in problems related to explainability and fairness;

Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to communicate and present research findings, concepts, and knowledge in dealing with ambiguity;

Georges River Council owns and operates seven children’s services across our LGA located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Hurstville, Kogarah, Penshurst, South Hurstville and a new purpose built service in Oatley West. Council’s Children’s Services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow. We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their Early Childhood Education profession. Georges River Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Childcare Worker-Diploma to join our dynamic and busy Children Service's Team. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a friendly, secure and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre, and to develop and implement programs which meet the developmental, cultural and additional needs of children in care. You will also provide support and provide information to parents regarding the needs and developmental progress of their children and provide specialist information and advice in regard to particular areas of concern as requested or required by parents.

Key Skills

• Previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age, preferably in a centre based setting
• Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate.
• Knowledge of NSW Children’s Services Regulations, QIAS.
• Demonstrated report writing and documentation skills in maintaining developmental and daily program records
• Demonstrated ability to work with staff, volunteers and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and with families with additional needs.
