We are looking for a Speech Pathology Team Leader to lead and manage a team of Speech Pathologists.

You will oversee the implementation of the TaLKERS speech pathology program in NSW which forms part of the organisation's national Social Inclusion Strategy within the Enhancing Children's Outcomes (EChO) approach.

Your Impact

  • Strengths based coaching and mentoring regarding ways of working in the program
  • Line management, practice support and leadership of NSW speech pathologists working as part of the program
  • Promoting an integrated, evidence-informed approach to deliver improved outcomes for children and families within the early childhood education and long day care setting
  • Providing formal and informal consultation and coaching around evidence-informed practices that enhance the care and education of children and their families within the early years setting
  • Building the capability of the early years educators to approach families and sensitively discuss their observations and access additional supports and services for the child and family, including referral
  • Building linkages with local support services and streamline referral pathways into and out of the centre
  • Maintaining close liaison and attend regular supervision with the National Manager – Speech Pathology

You’ll help achieve this by
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Speech Pathology and be eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and supporting the professional development of others
  • Demonstrated experience leading a small team
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of innovative speech pathology services in early childhood settings
  • Strong understanding of child development (birth - 5 years)
  • Strong understanding of relevant early childhood frameworks and standards
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply attachment theory and trauma informed practice
