Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is looking for an outstanding, innovative and strategic Head of Department to fill a temporary full-time position across a mix of curriculum areas with a focus on inclusive education. This opportunity requires the successful candidate to have strong flexibility, independence, leadership skills as well as change management and communication skills.

Your role
As the Head of Department you will have accountability across a range of curriculum areas and extra-curricular activities, as well as whole school strategic and/or operational processes. Experience in these areas should be clearly articulated in your application. Within this role, you will be an agile leader with a record of success in providing quality learning outcomes for all students and leading inclusive practices across the school. As an instructional leader, you will be focused on developing students who are problem-solvers with decision-making agility and risk-taking skills who can move into the future with confidence and resilience.

As the Head of Department you will have responsibility for, but not limited to the following:

  • Leading curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
  • participating in delivering the vision of State Schools Division
  • Developing the quality of teaching and learning
  • Nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders

The area is well-serviced by public bus and rail and the school includes end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and bicycle storage.

A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role Is
  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE .
