As the Head of Department you will lead curriculum, teaching & learning in line with school and departmental initiatives and participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division. You will play an active role in developing the quality of curriculum, teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

Your Role

The Head of Department - Teaching and Learning has portfolio responsibility for the ongoing implementation of:

  • Dimensions of Learning Framework
  • Explicit Teaching agenda
  • Senior Pathways Program for Year 11 and 12
  • Development, distribution and explanation of whole school data profiles
  • Academic Coaching Program for year 11 and 12 students
  • Agreed coaching, mentoring and classroom observation model
  • Coordination of school Induction Program including beginning teachers and teachers new to Dalby SHS
  • Mentoring Beginning Teachers and Aspirant programs
  • School Contact and organisation of Pre service Teachers
  • Assisting teachers with QCT processes for transitioning from provisional to full registration
This is a new position as a result of a Workplace Reform. As such, this position is for 6 months with a possibility of extension, subject to annual Local Consultative Committee endorsement.

A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role Is
  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE .
