The Opportunity

This is an amazing career opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing Faculties at Monash University. The Senior Manager, Research, Graduate Research & Engagement within the Faculty of Information Technology performs a critical role in driving the Faculty’s research agenda and manages the Faculty’s research performance. The position provides strong leadership and strategic advice to aid high level researcher and graduate research student outcomes within the faculty.

Reporting to the Faculty General Manager and managing a team of 5 direct reports, you will achieve key outcomes through the identification, development, and implementation of initiatives and programs to build collaboration, external engagement, and profile and attract large-scale research programs across industry and government. You will have responsibility for identifying, creating and evaluating opportunities with commercial and industry partners from developing marketing materials to managing contract negotiations.

You will bring to this role your extensive experience in providing strategic and high-level advice and direction on research strategy, tactics and administrative practices, ideally generated in a complex research intensive environment. Similarly your expertise in business development, including planning, commercial and contractual negotiations and financial modelling and management, alongside strong networks and links with industry, research bodies, relevant Government authorities, and other relevant organisations, will ensure your success in this position.
