The opportunity

Monash HR is integral to the success of our University, which places significant value on its people. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President, the Chief HR Officer manages a significant operating budget and leads a comprehensive and centralised HR function of approximately 150 FTE staff.

The University is seeking to appoint a progressive HR executive who, with an appreciation of the operating complexities of HR within a university environment, will inspire and lead the successful delivery of best practice HR services, systems and programs to advance the capabilities and talents of staff across the entire University.

About The Appointee

The position will suit an exceptional HR leader with outstanding commercial acumen, who has proven skills in solving complex problems, can foster a high-performance culture, and can challenge the status quo to shape strategies that ensure Monash is attracting and retaining highly-talented academic and professional staff.

As a strategic and transformational leader of the University’s HR function, the Chief HR Officer will strive for continuous improvement whilst focussing on driving operational and service excellence. Potential candidates should possess energy, vision and an open, engaging style. They will have superior communication and negotiation skills and a truly collaborative approach.
