Willoughby Public School has an enrolment of 981, including 41% of students from a language background other than English. Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Infants and Primary K-6, with demonstrated ability to provide high-quality differentiated literacy and numeracy programs using evidence-based pedagogy and data driven practices to cater for the diverse needs of all students.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team, reflect on teaching practice and build positive relationships with students, staff and the community.

Proactive classroom management and the ability to implement high impact teaching strategies that support the improvement of learning and well-being outcomes for all students, with the understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of students with a language background other than English.

Demonstrated ability to develop positive leaning environments with a thorough understanding of effective behaviour management strategies that enhance student’s wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Capacity and willingness to support whole school programs and extra-curricular activities, including gifted and talented, dance, public speaking and debating, to strengthen school culture and a sense of community.
