EOI - Open only to existing permanent teachers with the Department of Education via the teacher transfer process. Foxwell State Secondary College (Coomera - Northern Gold Coast) is looking to add passionate and innovative educators to its teaching team, in preparation for the 2022 school year. With our vision to offer a World of Opportunity for Every student we are seeking teachers who are passionate about curriculum development and new pedagogical approaches that put the student, and their unique needs, at the centre of all that they do.

To be eligible to apply you must be a permanent teacher with the Department of Education and have a current application for transfer in the 2020-2021 teacher transfer process which includes a comment on screen 15 of your application indicating your interest in Foxwell State Secondary College. Applicants that do not meet this requirement will be automatically excluded.

Refer to Teacher Transfer Guidelines (PDF) to determine eligibility. As a courtesy, teachers should advise their current principal of their application.

The Opportunity

Foxwell State Secondary College is particularly seeking Industrial Technology & Design, Media and English Teachers as well as all other learning areas.

Foxwell State Secondary College opened in 2020 and will cater for Years 7, 8 and 9 students from 2022. Our school has a clear Quality Teaching and Learning Framework which is thoroughly supported and implemented by all members of the teaching staff. Heavily influenced by New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL), Inclusive Education practices, and Positive Education, our teaching and learning approach requires teachers to be innovative, and passionate about ‘success' for all students. Teachers joining our team will need to embrace the 6 Cs, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Citizenship, Character and Communication, and focus on these in their own practice and in their development of our learners. We need confident and strong communicators with exceptional relational skills.

At Foxwell SSC we put the wellbeing of our staff, students and families as the top priority and are seeking teachers who thrive on working in learning partnerships. Our teachers engage in continual cycles of inquiry to ensure that we are best meeting the needs of our students and school school community. We encourage and challenge our staff to be calculated risk takers--solutions-focused experts who research, plan, and innovate. If this sounds like you, then join us for this unique opportunity as we develop and expand our school through to Year 12 in 2025.

Teachers must be passionate about knowing the Australian Curriculum, and innovative in the manner they engage with this with our students. Working directly with Joanne McCeachen (The Learner First) as our school's Executive Mentor, we will continue to deeply reflect on how we deliver a world class education for our students. More information about the Foxwell State Secondary College Quality Teaching and Learning Framework, and our Curriculum Plan, are available by contacting the Principal.
