We are currently recruiting for a suitably qualified, and enthusiastic leader for the role of Team Leader Integrated Kindergarten Services.

The Integrated Kindergarten leadership team oversee 30 sessional kindergarten sites across the municipality, and sits within the Family and Children's Services department. We work in genuine collaboration and partnership with families, each other and non-Council organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes for, and with children and their families in the Knox community.

This position within the Integrated Kindergartens leadership team, leads a team that provides responsive high quality and integrated early childhood services embedded in strong family-centred and collaborative practice that recognises and respects the voice of the child and children’s agency. This role is primarily responsible for promoting and ensuring the delivery of high quality, sustainable services that meet pedagogy, practice, and quality and compliance requirements across a group of kindergarten sites.

With the current implementation of the State Government Reform to provide children with access to two years of funded kindergarten, this role will initially be heavily engaged in supporting the implementation of key projects to ensure the education team are ready for this reform to commence in 2022 in Knox.

This role will be the ‘Person with Management Responsibilities’ as per Department of Education and Training (DET) requirements.

This position also works collaboratively within the Integrated Family and Children’s Services Team.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to facilitate team collaboration, communication and integration.
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff to achieve a high standard of performance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of National Education & Care Services National Regulations, Education & Care Services National Law Act and National & Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Frameworks (EYLF & VEYLDF) in relation to Centre based services.
  • Demonstrated skills for working with teams to evaluate programs based on evidence and research .
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a dynamic, busy environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high quality reports and make presentations.
