About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Cardiology Research Group at the Kolling Institute. You will have the opportunity to work on research initiatives supporting the discovery and development of novel biomarkers of cardiovascular disease.

About you

  • holds a PhD in cardiovascular research or related discipline
  • demonstrates a research interest in cardiothoracic and vascular health
  • is developing a research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent published research,
  • extensive experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions, and grant applications
  • has a broad skill set and proficiency using molecular assays, biochemical experiments in cells, cell culture techniques, and in vivo disease models, preferably relative to the cardiovascular system
  • demonstrates an ability to communicate well with team members and supervisors
  • possesses excellent written and oral communication skills with proficiency in statistical analyses software packages such as GraphPad Prism
  • has experience in a research-intensive environment and working in academia, with previous experience in the supervision of research students.
