Inspector, School Registration &Accreditation

The NSWEducation Standards Authority (€˜NESA€™) was formally established on 1 January2017 to improve quality teaching and student learning across all schools andschool sectors. It is responsible forthe curriculum, assessment, teacher accreditation and regulatory standards inNSW schools, and accreditation of early childhood teachers.

Weare looking for a motivated and focused Inspector to provide leadership in theplanning and implementation of NESA€™s regulatory program for home schoolingregistration. This role is located within the directorate that is alsoresponsible for NESA€™s regulatory programs for non-government schools, thegovernment schooling system, providers of courses for students from overseasand teacher accreditation authorities.

Tobe successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your immediateproficiency in the focus capabilities as highlighted in the Role Description.All the capabilities listed in the role description will be assessed atdifferent stages of the recruitment process. This assessment will determineyour suitability for appointment andmayassist in identifying any learning and development needs for you to reach yourfull potential in this role.

Pre-screeningquestions:

Answer thetwo pre-screening questions below - we are looking for you to demonstrate yourcompetency in this focus capability. Answer with concrete examples and in nomore than 500 words. Briefly describe the context of the situation(s), the actionsthat you took, the outcome of your efforts and what you learned from theexperience.

1. Provide an example of when you managed a project.Describe how you planned, implemented, evaluated and reported on the project.What monitoring and control processes did you use and what did they reveal?What were the key milestones of the project and why were they important? Whatchallenges did you encounter and how did you overcome those? What was the finaloutcome?

2. Provide an example of when you implemented policywithin a team environment that had strong regulatory requirements. Whatprocesses did you implement to ensure regulatory compliance? What qualitycontrol measures did you use? Who were the stakeholders and how did you engagewith them? What challenges did you encounter and how did you overcome those? Ifyou could, how would you improve the implementation processes?
