About Us

The City of Kingston is south-east of Melbourne and is approximately 20km from Melbourne's CBD. We employ over 1,450 people in a diverse range of roles including engineering, customer service, administration, finance, family, youth and children's services, sport and recreation, health, parks and gardens, planning, arts and management.

Our Family and Children’s Centres provide high quality childcare, kindergarten programs and Maternal and Child Health services. The Centres are housed in purpose built, state of the art facilities which provide a vibrant and welcoming environment.

The role

Reporting To The Centre Coordinator, Your Role Is To

We currently have a one day (8hours) per week, temporary part time Education and Care Leader opportunity within the Childcare Program at Parkdale Family and Children’s Centre.
  • Lead the Early Years Educator team within the Childcare Program to deliver a high quality Educational program which is tailored to the children’s individual interests.
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing implementation and review of the centres Quality Improvement Plan.

About You

You will be an engaging and inspiring leader, who works in a collaborative partnership with the Early Years Educators and leadership team to provide a high quality Early Years program.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have Strong Commitment To
  • Work within an innovative and integrated family and children centre, with the commitment to being, an intentional Education and Care Leader who seeks to develop strategies and learning opportunities with children and staff.
  • Engage the Early Years Educator team to critically reflect on practice and deliver the program according to the Nationally recognised curriculum.
  • Must be able to; demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.

Requirements Include
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood (0-8) or equivalent, working towards a Bachelor would be considered
  • National Police Check and up to date Working with Children Check
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • Asthma Management Certificate
  • Anaphylaxis Management Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
