About the Role

We currently have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and nurturing Early Learning Co-educator to join our team on a fixed term basis from 12 July to 10 September, 2021. This role is full-time, working 10am-6pm Monday – Friday.

The role will focus on:

  • Assisting the teacher to provide high quality, engaging programs and ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the early learning program and the care of the children
  • Assisting with the planning, assessments and observations of student learning
  • Arranging suitable displays and documentation of children’s work
  • Providing a safe, clean, ordered, welcoming and stimulating environment for children, parents and staff
  • Developing and maintaining, together with other staff members, a caring environment where children feel safe and secure
  • Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the afterschool program, including supervision of children at all times
  • Creating positive partnerships with children/parents/carers
  • Upholding regulatory compliance requirements.
Job Requirements:

About You

We are looking for a passionate, organised and engaging Co-educator with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The successful applicant will have:
  • Previous experience providing high level care of children
  • An active interest in and commitment to the education of young children
  • A demonstrated understanding of current theory and research relating to early years education, particularly working within the EYLF and VEYLDF
  • An interest, experience or understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach in Australian contexts
  • Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of learning programs to extend and cater to the needs of all children
  • Excellence in engaging with children and providing stimulating, nurturing and creative learning environments and experiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively and assist in assessments and observations of student learning
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, patient and relationship-oriented
  • Possess and encourage a growth mindset
  • Technologically literate – Microsoft Office, ipad, Storypark and Xplor (desirable)
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Requirements
  • Diploma of Children’s Services (minimum level of qualification)
  • A sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
  • Current first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma management accreditation
  • Completed training with regards to Mandatory Reporting
  • A current Working with Children Check.
