Who is RMIT Online?

Created by RMIT University, we provide world-class digital learning experiences leaning into the future of work. We are a passionate and nimble team dedicated to creating a 'community of lifelong learners, successfully navigating the world of work.'

Teaming up with industry thought leaders and experts, we strive to deliver the best in structured, flexible education using the latest digital tools and technologies. And we have a bit of fun along the way.

Let’s talk about the role.

We are looking for a real go-getter to join this vibrant and collaborative team. You’ll work closely with the Head of Partnerships and wider Student Experience team to develop strong relationships across RMIT and key delivery partners to coordinate and deliver the best online learning experiences for all students - future skills, undergraduate and postgraduate.

Please note, this is a 6 month contract with full time hours, Monday to Friday.

This role sits at the heart of the Partnerships & Course Build team. It is the glue that connects the resources we need from the University and our industry partners with the teams that build our courses. Reporting to Amy, our Operations Performance Manager, this role wears many hats and has a diverse existence from day-to-day. One day you might be negotiating and wrangling with academics to act as SMEs on one of our courses, and the next you might be sitting down with the Dean to discuss how a course is going, and what improvements need to be made.

In between times, you're working across the breadth of RMIT Online as a key connection point for many of our partners into the business. No two days are the same, and you need to be pretty nimble to keep all the different balls in the air. This is not a role for the faint-hearted you’ll have a huge amount of variety daily, it’s fast-paced and you’ll need to lead with initiative and have the ability to think on your feet.

Some duties include:

  • Working collaboratively to implement new service experience initiatives across functional teams
  • Responding to and resolving RMIT / RMIT Online/delivery partner operational issues
  • Working closely with the Product team and delivery partners to implement new programs
  • Engagement with RMIT and delivery partner stakeholders around portfolio performance

About the team.

You’ll be joining an ambitious (and fun-loving) team of experienced professionals who are passionate about making a difference in our students’ lives through the world of education and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students.

Let’s talk about you.

Friendly, Passionate, Ambitious, Collaborative, Organised, Great Eye for Detail.

With a background in the tertiary education sector, you have solid administrative, operational, organisation and communication skills, perhaps you’ve been a Team Assistant or Project coordinator previously? You have a knack for solving problems, keeping things on track and closing the loop and incredible attention to detail. Bonus points for project management experience and understanding of academic course administration, policies and procedures.

As a true people person, you really enjoy building relationships and treat every person as a customer, ensuring your interactions with others are meaningful and friendly. You’re a team player, highly collaborative, and you enjoy celebrating wins and calling it out when someone has done a great job. Additionally, you’re known for your ability to problem solve and come up with great solutions; you enjoy improving and streamlining processes.

In this role, there will be times when you will need to put your analytical skills to use, prepare great presentations and confidently deliver these to internal and external partners. You enjoy taking ownership of your role and thrive in a collaborative and nimble work environment and culture. It’s fast-paced here, so you need to be very comfortable with complexity, tight deadlines, ambiguity and picking it up to help your fellow workmates and students.

You have a genuine interest in technology, learning and education and love collaboration and process improvement. With a great sense of humous and grace under pressure, you have a wonderful ability to handle conflict and challenging issues in a sensitive and professional manner to maintain effective and productive relationships.

What’s a week in the life of this role?

  • Meetings with build partners to discuss how course builds are going
  • Contacting academics to organise their involvement in upcoming courses
  • Analysing & collating course performance data from a recent course run to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Preparing contracts for build partners or academics
  • Rescheduling courses and planning how academic programs are going to run next year
  • Helping resolve student enrolment issues
  • Helping to onboard a new partner into our ways of working

Here’s how to apply:

Send us your CV now along with a brief cover letter telling us about:

  • A time that you made a big impact in the workplace and how you did it
  • Why you’re the best person for this job and why you want to work for RMIT Online

Need more convincing?

This is a unique opportunity to build something really big, to disrupt an industry and do it with purpose, helping lifelong learners, and put your name on it.

What’s more, is you’ll be surrounded by an energetic team of high achievers who are passionate and friendly. We pride ourselves on being a respectful, diverse and inclusive community of fun and intelligent people.
