The Opportunity

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Post-doctoral Senior Research Fellow to join the Australian Research Council Linkage Project between Monash University, Sydney University and Kindeva Drug Delivery, a multinational pharmaceutical company.

Reporting to the Chief Investigator, this exciting role will focus on developing new environmentally friendly propellants for medical inhalers. The position will be responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of a wide range of experiments. These will include optical droplet, spray and aerosol experiments within the Laboratory for Turbulence Research in Aerospace & Combustion (LTRAC) in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. The position is also responsible for analysing results, preparing publications and presenting the findings at local and international meetings.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a related area, and present excellent familiarity with a range of experimental techniques in the field of fluid mechanics. This may include but is not limited to high-speed imaging, shadowgraphy, schlieren imaging, laser diffraction, particle image velocimetry, and laser doppler velocimetry.

You will have demonstrable experience in successfully supervising, mentoring and coaching research staff as well as a solid track record of refereed research publications.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
