Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school from Early Learning to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Pembroke School has over 1250 students from Years 7-12.

We are seeking a visionary educator with excellent team management and people skills to provide leadership to our Drama and Film department. The successful applicant will be able to enthuse students in their study of Drama, Film and Creative Arts and make a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the School.

The Head of Drama and Film has the responsibility of overseeing the teaching of Drama and Film in the School. The Head will be aware of the developments in Drama and Film curricula and be recognised as a well-organised and gifted teacher while being committed to personal creativity in Drama and/or Film. The Head will be able to enthuse and motivate colleagues and students to ensure that the Department has a high profile within the School and a good reputation elsewhere.

In Drama at Pembroke, students enjoy a rich and varied performance programme ranging from Middle School Workshops and Productions to the Senior School and Year 12 Productions. Students are also given opportunities to participate in special events in the wider community such as the Adelaide Fringe and Cabaret Festival. Students have the opportunity at every year level to engage in film making, culminating in the annual Unreel Film Festival which showcases outstanding student films. Attendance at professional theatre and film productions and opportunities to work with industry professionals are highlights of the programme.

The Arts at Pembroke provides a variety of opportunities for students to enjoy a rich creative life. Focus is placed on enjoyment of new experiences, exploration of artistic processes and development of specific skills, with emphasis on both broad participation and a high degree of artistic excellence.
