JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Information

Bradbury Public School is situated in South Western Sydney and has a Family Occupation Education and Index of 108. Bradbury currently has 724 students enrolled from K-6. The school hosts twenty-seven mainstream classes, an Opportunity class, three Autism classes and an IO/IS class. Eight percent of our students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and thirty-nine percent are from English Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds.

Our school practices a firm belief of valuing wellbeing (Every Child is Known, Valued and Cared for) with a school culture devised around the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). The school community has a strong partnership with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and Parents and Citizens Association (P&C).

Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria,

Approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Inclusive leadership with a high level of emotional intelligence to lead, mentor and inspire staff to deliver improved educational and wellbeing outcomes for all students

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of the executive team to lead and evaluate the implementation of the school plan and school initiatives

Ability to strategically analyse data and drive innovative educational programs and initiatives that lead to high quality learning outcomes for Aboriginal students

Ability to lead the implementation of high quality, innovative literacy and numeracy programs based on expert curriculum knowledge and evidence-based practices

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
