Position Information

Grafton High School is a large comprehensive school community of approximately 860 students, located on the traditional lands of the Bundjalung people on the North Coast of NSW. The school has a long standing reputation for academic, cultural and sporting achievement. Grafton High School offers an extensive curriculum featuring a large and diverse choice of subjects from Years 7 to 12, a well–resourced and locally supported vocational education program (Years 9 to 12), a support unit comprising 6 classes catering for students with disabilities and specialised support for learners of all abilities. Grafton High School is the only semi–selective high school on the north coast of NSW, catering for approximately 120 students in the junior school. Approximately 17% of Grafton High School’s student cohort is of Aborigonal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Mathematics Years 7-10 and Years 11-12.

Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom practices and behaviour management strategies that contribute to a positive and inclusive learning culture.

Evidence of the ability to develop and deliver engaging and challenging teaching programs to meet the learning needs of a diverse range of students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships with students, staff and the school community.

Ability to work as a collaborative member of the Mathematics faculty and contribute to whole school initiatives.


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
