About the role and portfolio:

The newly formed Centre for Academic Quality and Enhancement (CAQE) sits within the Education Portfolio under the direction of the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor Education, Quality & Enhancement.

The Centre supports the attainment of academic standards across RMIT University and provides an enterprise wide interpretive and evaluative function to ensure consistent process, practice and design in academic quality supporting continuous improvement and transparency in reporting of enterprise wide outcomes to key bodies and boards to support compliance and enhancement.

The Centre and its operations support consistency in design and direction across RMIT University to support academic quality and continuous improvement of all accredited programs and products, enhancing our student and staff experience.

The Centre partners and collaborates with RMIT Colleges/Schools and other portfolios to support staff across the University to embed a culture of academic quality and enhancement.

The Senior Officer, Quality and Enhancement will partner with RMIT Portfolios to deliver Academic Quality services and direction. Portfolios will be partnered with to deliver services to the Colleges and other RMIT entities including but not limited to Global Marketing, International, Industry Engagement, RMIT Studios, Analytics & Insights and ARG to work in partnership with them to deliver Academic Quality and Enhancement services and direction.

The Senior Officer will be collaborative in their approach, with an ability to build and maintain working relationships across the Enterprise with a responsibility for designing academic quality focused education and capability development for staff to ensure awareness and understanding of our regulatory environment, requirements and consequences.

The role will also be responsible for Enterprise wide Academic design advice to develop consistent processes and practices that meet quality standards within a strengths-based framework and ensuring they are implemented consistently with appropriate reporting and information management practices in place.

The role will work closely with staff in Global Development and key Academic Quality roles through third party delivery, RMIT Online and RMIT Training

About you:

You will possess the critical ability to influence key stakeholders across different cohorts and have the skill to deliver clear, rational and consistent messaging.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
  • Proven ability to work constructively with high-level stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent trustworthiness and high-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Vocational Education a compliance and academic quality regulatory standards and obligations.
  • Experience in collaboration and leading within a university or similar large and complex organization.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the tertiary education sector and academic quality compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience and expertise in the development and delivery of educational services within a complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
