Overview

The Richardson School is now accepting applications for a Day School Director! The Day School Director is responsible for promoting growth in revenue and overall business development for the assigned division by reviewing budgets, maximizing enrollment, developing new service options and assisting with reorganization of existing services and location as needed. This position manages all support and building functions whether employees or contracted services.

The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically, these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for and manages all building and support services including food and building services whether employed or contracted facilitating smooth operations, fiscal responsiveness and quality. Takes necessary action to see that the physical environment of the facility is healthy, safe, and organized.
  • Provides supervision and support for the Instructional Aide Supervisor who manages the Aides in the school classrooms and during camp collaborating with Special Education Supervisor and Lead Teacher to see that appropriate staff are present to facilitate a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provides support and direction to the Trainer to see that the School staff’s orientation and training needs are being met and that all required education is accomplished within established timelines and in accordance with all licensing/funding requirements.
  • Maintains an awareness of current enrollments and building/program capacity and couples this with changes in the market, target markets, and in referral and funding sources. With good judgment and discretion identifies and recommends to the Director of Operations opportunities to maximize revenue through increase capacity, program expansion, or new services.
  • Performs human resource management and payroll processing functions for direct reports including interviewing and selection; orientation, training, performance monitoring and evaluations; coaching, counseling and corrective action and resolution of employee concerns. Monitors overtime. Maintains clear, objective documentation. Supports staff in their professional development.
  • Establishes relationships and maintains regular contact with funding and school/District representatives. Regularly supplies referral sources with a summary of available program services. Explores needs for new service options by eliciting information from County and School representatives. Participates in related professional or community service organizations as needed. Promotes relationships and provides information about the Company to individuals we support and their families, local school districts, case managers and local community and other professionals.

Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Human Services, Counseling, Business Administration or related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years experience with budget development, marketing and/or public relations in a service field.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of child welfare and educational services.
  • Experience in working with emotionally disturbed or cognitively disabled individuals preferred.
