  • The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking to appoint an experienced Assessments Coordinator.

    Reporting to the Manager Assessments, this role will be responsible for the oversight, administration, and delivery of the summative assessments and examinations. The Assessment team works with the Committee for Examinations, and its sub-committees, to oversee the implementation of assessment initiatives, RANZCP examinations, and written assessments such as the Psychotherapy Written Cases and the Scholarly Project.

    This role has a specific focus to:

    • Develop and oversee continuous improvement to the assessment systems, in close consultation with the Manager, Assessments, and the team.
    •  Ensure successful delivery of examinations, in close working relationships with the relevant stakeholders.
    • Coordinate the implementation of the RANZCP Training and Assessment Regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Support the Manager Assessments and the Executive Manager, Education and Training in the delivery of key examinations activities and initiatives to meet the Australian Medical Council (AMC) standards.
    • Scope and develop an effective transition to online delivery of examinations, and oversee the implementation process.
    • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the assessment team including workload allocation, quality improvement opportunities in relation to the systems and processes used for exam development.
    •  Ensure delivery of the summative assessments are in accordance with the regulations and oversee the development of the examinations in close liaison with the relevant stakeholders.
    • Review the currency of business processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in relation to Assessment in consultation with the exam team and Manager, Assessments.
    •  Coordinate the implementation of operational and administrative functions and projects to support the delivery of the departmental goals relating to Assessment.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate:

    • Experience in the assessment delivery/examinations or training-related experience in education or health services sectors.
    • An understanding of the AMC standards for Australian vocational medical education.
    • Experience in change management and quality improvement to address changing educational requirements in relation to the assessment methodology, process, and application.
    • Experience in the coordination of online examinations or sound understanding of online delivery of examinations - Audio Visual / Remote.
    • Ability to work without close supervision and provide oversight to a team in a dynamic environment.
    • Sound knowledge and aptitude for Information Technology, above that of common software applications such as Microsoft Office suite. Experience working with project management software is desirable.
    • Experience in project and/or event management.
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, particularly in relation to report writing, briefing papers, and the ability to effectively document work performed.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within strict timeframes.
    • Qualifications/experience in the assessment management or examination delivery with a focus on online delivery of assessments.
