JTC Technology specialise in providing IT support services to schools across the broader Sydney region, and are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic, personable and technology savvy individual to help deliver our Technology Utilisation and Innovation initiative to our school clients.

This role could be ideal for

  • A uni student studying education or TAFE student studying early childhood,
  • An educator looking for a career change, or
  • Someone who is passionate about technology and sharing their knowledge with others

A conceptual understanding of the NSW school curriculum and learning outcomes is essential.
Prior experience in IT Support or Education would be advantageous but is not required.

This role will be based at our Castle Hill office and involve regular travel to client sites across the Sydney region.

While initially the role will be a part-time fixed term contract, there is potential for this to be an ongoing position.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly pick up new technologies and communicate this to others in an engaging and effective manner.

The key goals of this role are to

  • Build teacher familiarity with and confidence using technology
  • Support teachers in the classroom when using technology
  • Build student familiarity with and confidence using technology

Specific responsibilities of the role will include

  • Identifying and demonstrating new and existing technologies that can be used in teaching and learning,
  • Providing training and support to teachers to build their confidence with technology
  • Working with teachers to co-develop and update technology-leveraging teaching material to enhance student experience and or improve learning outcomes
  • Providing direct assistance with technology to teachers and students in classrooms,
  • Creation of support and training materials,
  • Facilitating student technology groups

Required personal skills include

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to provide training and support in an engaging and effective manner
  • Proactivity and initiative, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop solutions
  • Strong customer service skills

As this is a new initiative, the successful candidate will be integral in developing the service and also involved promoting the service to clients.

The successful applicant, once offered a position, will be required to obtain a NSW Working With Children Check.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, and have a NSW driver’s license and vehicle.

Contract length: 4 months

Part-time hours: 24 per week

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract

Salary: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
