A leading independent school on the North Shore is seeking a Director of ICT.


Summary

The Director of ICT is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the strategic plan for ICT, and for overseeing cost effective, high quality provision of ICT requirements across the School, for learning, administrative and communication purposes.

The Director of ICT will directly manage the ICT team including: E-Learning, Infrastructure, Help Desk Services, Information Systems, Audio-Visual and Print Room.


General Objectives:

• Define and drive the future direction of ICT, to enhance teaching and learning outcomes for staff and students

• Produce efficient administrative procedures and processes and high-quality communications among stakeholders

• Build, lead and manage a high performing team of ICT professional staff and ICT curriculum leaders across the school that is responsible for delivering quality systems and projects on-time and to budget


Principal Responsibilities:

• Generate and advocate for strategies that will achieve the above general objectives

• Ensure that school applications are the best available and suitable for the School's needs

• Ensure that ICT infrastructure is robust, reliable, effective and efficient for the School's needs

• Identify and manage risks and issues associated with ICT provisions and projects, including cyber security and business continuity

• Enhance teachers' capacities to use ICT effectively and efficiently as a tool for high quality learning and enhanced student outcomes

• Contribute to the general development of teaching staff in their professional role and more broadly to the plans and strategies for constant improvement of teaching and learning within the school.

• Keep abreast of innovative ICT provisions and practices in the Education sector

• Monitor control and report on ICT operations expenditure against agreed budgetary guidelines

• Identify opportunities for business process improvements through better technologies / system enhancements

• Plan and manage roll-outs of hardware/software, systems integration and business processes

• Oversee the School’s BYOD program


Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant IT/Industry experience as an IT Director, Head of ICT or Senior Manager within an Educational institution managing a team

• 10 years + relevant IT experience

• Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications

• Project management experience in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of technology related projects

• A proven capacity to contribute strategically to the wider development of an organisation while retaining a strong grasp of operational detail

• Proven experience of managing a range of IT services to a high standard

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills

• Hold or be able to obtain a current Working with Children Check
