Casual Research Assistant (Quantitative)

The Gonski Institute for Education / School of Education, within the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, is currently seeking expressions of interest for casual Research Assistants with quantitative expertise to support the research team on the Rural and Regional Education Project. The aim of the project is to better understand rural and regional school settings and build a stronger evidence base to inform tailored support to schools.

Eligible Candidates Will Possess The Following Experience/interests

  • A flexible schedule to work up to full-time for a period of 2 Months starting as soon as possible. There is the possibility of work beyond this date.
  • Available to attend UNSW in person.
  • Familiarity with Australian and ideally NSW and education is desirable.


Applicants Must Meet The Following Selection Criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience managing and analysing quantitative datasets, including cleaning, merging, and creating variables as well as descriptive analysis, structural equation modelling and latent profile analysis.
  • Experience using quantitative data analysis software, preferably Mplus software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience interpreting and writing reports based on quantitative data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively within a large team of researchers.
  • High level organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
