Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)

Duties

The Manager Education and Training will lead a work-group with TasTAFE delivery teams to maximise the educational experience of students focusing on TasTAFE’s strategy, Corporate Plan and Minister’s priorities. This role will lead Education Managers to ensure vocational education and training design and delivery meets student expectations and demonstrates continuous improvement of training products, within appropriate resource allocation.

The Manager Education and Training will foster teams to develop appropriate modes of delivery that will ensure the right mix of online, workplace and face to face learning. The Manager Education and Training will work with the Educational Design and Delivery Manager to draw on eLearning and assessment support resources.

The incumbent will work as part of a team with Directors Education and with the Executive Director Students and Education in supporting all TasTAFE Education Managers to ensure that the delivery of training products is innovative, responsive to feedback and meets the standards for RTOs. Of particular note will be the importance of student surveys in relation to the delivery of the training products and respective teams’ responsiveness to continuous improvement.

The Manager Education and Training will have responsibility for specific Educational Policies and Procedures.

The Manager Education and Training will also be responsible for the specific outcomes of a work-group education delivery teams.

Additional Information

There are four Manager Education and Training positions within the work-group structure:

  • Health, Community and Prison (Work-placements)
  • Automotive, Energy and Building Trades
  • Tourism, Hospitality, Land and Food (Vet in schools)
  • Business, Technology and Learner Support (Student Entry)

Essential Requirements
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment)
The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Desirable Requirements
  • Degree in education – preferably adult education
  • Proven record of senior leadership in a large and complex private or public organisation
  • Deep experience of vocational education and training including evidence of leading in a large Registered Training Organisation to achieve quality outcomes for both students and employers.
