Office of Corporate Relations

Corporate Relations primarily exists to promote Curtin University’s reputation, student recruitment, and stakeholder engagement.

All areas within the portfolio actively contribute to fulfilling the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan and assisting Curtin to move towards its 2030 vision of being an internationally recognised leader in research and education.

Our work focuses on external audiences such as prospective students and influencers, our alumni, partner organisations, government and corporate stakeholders, actual and potential donors, and media organisations.

We have an opportunity for an IT savvy administrator to join the team, on a part time basis (0.8 FTE, Tuesday - Friday), and provide administration, coordination and operations support to our University Events team at our Curtin St Georges Terrace Precinct.

In this role you will…

Act as the first point of contact for the reception of visitors and clients (rotating between the two buildings);
Provide operational support to the team including - booking venues, sourcing catering and suppliers and undertaking promotional activities.
Update and maintain the venue management system, and ensure venue/rooms are set up in accordance with booking requests.
Participate in relevant events, and provide back up support to the University Events team when required.
Undertake general clerical tasks including printing, photocopying, dispatch of correspondence and the procurement of consumables.
Please note that you will occasionally be required to work outside of office hours.

We are looking for someone with…

A relevant diploma qualification with relevant work experience; or equivalent relevant experience or combination or relevant experience and education/training.
Events experience.
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, and work effectively independently or as part of a team.
Strong computer literacy with skills in in a wide range of applications including word processing, spreadsheet packages, email and web/video conferencing.
Previous experience within the higher education sector (desirable).
