The purpose of the position is to apply a varied range of skills, to provide effective and efficient administrative services to the Coordinator, Indigenous Higher Education Unit (IHEU) and to facilitate the efficient operation of the First Peoples Directorate.

More specifically the role entails:
  • Providing information and support services to future students to assist in student admission to University courses;
  • Responding to general reception, telephone and electronic enquiries from students, staff, applicants, external stakeholders and community members ;
  • Implementing effective processes in checking of Invoices for accuracy and preparing accounts for authorisation of the Coordinator, for submission to Finance or FP Directorate.
  • Having a good understanding of University policies and procedures, student support programs offered by ACU and external agencies, as well as Government programs offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
You will need to have:
  • Identification as an Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Australian Catholic University considers that being an Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander is genuine requirement as identified in the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Employment Strategy.
  • Completion of Year 12, with relevant work experience in an office environment, or equivalent work experience including exposure to an office environment.
  • Ability to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and community members in a supportive and sensitive manner.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with a strong customer service focus.

Total remuneration valued to $76,359 total rem - $82,692 total rem pa, including salary component $64524 - $69876 pa (Higher Education Worker Level 4), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
