Remuneration:$109,853+ superannuation 

Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute are the TAFE trading brands of Bendigo Kangan Institute. We are one of Victoria's largest TAFE providers, with over 40,000 enrolled students per annum. We offer vocational training to students from all over the northern metro corridor as well as Loddon Campaspe regions. We pride ourselves on the quality of training we provide by having industry expert teachers who impart their wealth of experience to the workforce of the future. We believe in everything we do, we give people the opportunity to be the best they can be. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Educator to join our Community team at Broadmeadows Campus.

The Role:

The Bendigo Kangan Institute, Health and Community Centre of Excellence is a newly formed centre providing training and employment solutions for pre service and existing workers in the health and community services sectors. It is anticipated that growth will continue in a demand-driven market and industry work is trending toward larger projects in partnership with key clients. It is an adult learning environment although students may be VETiS, school leavers or mature age and come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

To enable management of this rapid expansion and leadership within the newly formed teams, we are looking for experienced education managers with a wide range of experience in both vocational education and industry to join us in this exciting new phase of BKI's continued development.

The Lead Educator requires a broad knowledge of vocational educational program development and delivery, TAFE structures and compliance requirements and to possess an understanding of the Community Services training package. The Lead Educator is responsible for:

  • The management and supervision of a team of staff.
  • Lead and manage the coordination, design, development, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of vocational education and training programs and services offered by the team.
  • Managing team performance and achievement of business targets/outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • TAE40116: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent
  • TAE50116: Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or equivalent
  • Relevant vocational qualification
  • Substantial experience in an appropriate industry sector, preferably in a community services role
  • A fundamental understanding of competency based training and assessment and e-learning
  • A demonstrated sound knowledge of the VET system, relevant VET qualifications and relevant industry sectors.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWC) Assessment Notice and/or WWC card
  • Police Check
  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
