About the opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for qualified, experienced individuals who wish to be considered for Casual Teaching opportunities in Information Technology within TAFE South Region. The TAFE NSW campuses where opportunities are available are; Albury, Goulburn, Griffith, Moruya, Moss Vale, Nowra, Tumut, Ulladulla, Wollongong West, Wagga Wagga, Cooma, Queanbeyan. Applicants will need to be available to engage in day and evening work hours.

The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

This position is part time casual and has a pay rate of $83.00 per hour.

About You

To succeed in the role, you will be aware of current industry requirements and have a willingness to continue to obtain industry knowledge. You have the drive to share your knowledge and expertise within the industry with a diverse range of students. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share information with your peers and students face to face and when required, connected learning platforms. You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge, and you have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment.

We recognise that real experience is the most important aspect when appointing our teaching staff, we know that this experience, your creditability and your story will have a positive impact, to generate the passion needed by our students to see their qualification through. 

Therefore, we want you to discover the teacher within you. If you don’t have a current teaching qualification, but you do have a passion and commitment for your industry, you may be eligible for certificate IV Training and Assessment scholarship and once you have completed the studies, you will hold the qualification needed to become a Trainer and Assessor with TAFE NSW.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent/relevant qualification.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), (unless applying for a Teaching qualification scholarship).
  • Minimum three years or equivalent, relevant industry experience (gained within the last 3 years) in Information Technology in the areas of Networking, Cyber-Security, Programming, Web, Data, Business Analysis or Project Management
  • Highly advanced computer skills.
  • Commitment and willingness learn and develop as a professional teacher.
  • Ability to meet to essential requirements as per the position description.
