The Office of the General Counsel (OGC), within the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), is seeking applications for a winter internship position, from undergraduate LLB and Juris Doctor students, who are in their final or penultimate year of study

The OGC is offering one internship placement which commences on Monday 28 June 2021 and concludes on Friday 23 July 2021. There may be flexibility in start and end dates to accommodate the successful candidate's university semester break period.

The Office of the General Counsel

OGC navigates complex legal and policy challenges with technically outstanding legal advice and practical, evidence-based solutions. Most recently, OGC has led, and continues to lead, in advising the Premier on the government's response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Reporting to the Secretary, DPC, our General Counsel has management responsibility for the OGC, assisted by two Directors, an Assistant General Counsel and teams led by managers.

OGC is looking for a winter intern who is motivated, demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm and good judgment, and has excellent written and oral communications skills. To succeed in this role, you will have strong academic results in a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and an interest in a career in government.

To be eligible to apply you must currently be in your final or penultimate year of your undergraduate LLB or Juris Doctor.
