JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Schools invites expressions of interest from suitability qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary full time position with Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing May 2021 to 13 August 2021.

As a member of the School Improvement Services - Secondary team (SIS-S), the Professional Officer will support, challenge and extend the practice and pedagogy of teachers and leaders in Diocesan schools to ensure compliance requirements are met and to bring about improvement in student learning and achievement

Essential Selection Criteria

  • A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor Degree in Education (or suitably related discipline).
  • Leadership experience across a range of stages and in Learning Technologies, Technology & Applied Studies (TAS) and STEM.
  • Successful leadership experience at a whole school level, across a curriculum &/or pedagogical context.
  • Proven success in building a culture of learning growth in a school setting.
  • Familiarity and commitment to Lighting the Way Vision & Strategic Direction of CEDoW.
  • Knowledge and understanding of what works best in education, syllabus implementation, teaching and learning programs, assessment and reporting.
  • Capacity to analyse system and school data to identify areas of high performance and emerging issues in learning, teaching and curriculum.
  • Capacity to recognise and employ appropriate strategies to support teachers and leaders to develop collaborative, high quality effective learning culture.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that can positively influence change and growth in others.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
