The Opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (MNHS), is the largest faculty at Monash University, and offers the most comprehensive suite of professional health training in Victoria. We consistently rank in the top 40 universities worldwide for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences.

We want to improve the human condition. That is our vision - it has no expiration date. Through academic health centres, other translational models and by educating the healthcare workforce of the future, our staff, students and alumni directly improve quality of life.

As the Rural End to End Coordinator, you will be working within Monash Rural Health (MRH), a school within MNHS. MRH carries a mandate to improve the health status of regional, rural and remote communities in Australia, and more specifically in Victoria. We are committed to a sustainable rural health workforce and are achieving these outcomes through the development and implementation of medical and health professions education programs in underserved regional and rural communities, and by undertaking targeted research programs that address priority health problems in rural populations.

Reporting to the Senior Officer Churchill, the Rural End to End Coordinator provides a range of complex administrative and support services as part of the MRH Murray Darling Medical School Network (MDMSN) Project’s strategies and initiatives. You will promote the Monash Rural End-to-End component of the Monash University Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (BMedSc/MD) graduate entry program to secondary school students and students in the Monash University feeder courses.

In collaboration with academics and professional staff, you will also develop a student support and wellbeing program, including orientation resources, faculty/university resources and linkages with community groups and leaders.

You will actively engage with the Rural End-to-End student cohorts at the Churchill, Bendigo, Mildura and Gippsland sites to assist students to positively embrace academic studies, clinical experience, mentorship opportunities and community engagement in rural health settings.

As the successful candidate, you will display excellent communication and administrative skills, with a demonstrated capacity to develop and implement effective operational processes and systems within the higher education sector. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver high level and effective advice to students, stakeholders and staff.

If this sounds like a position that suits your current career focus we look forward to hearing from you.

This role is a part-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
