Full Job Description
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a large, multi-campus institution serving communities nationally and internationally. The University currently has two metropolitan campuses at Mount Lawley and Joondalup, and also serves Western Australia’s South West Region from a campus at Bunbury, 200km south of Perth. The ECU School of Education is one of the largest Schools of Education in Australia with over 5,000 students. The School offers a broad range of programs including Early Childhood Studies, Primary, Secondary and Postgraduate Education.

The School is seeking to appoint an ongoing Associate Professor in Educational Leadership to lead the Postgraduate Studies and Enterprise areas as Associate Dean for an initial term of three years.

The Role
The Associate Dean (Postgraduate Studies and Enterprise) is a member of the School’s executive team managing a discipline cluster within the School and the associated staff. This role reports to the Executive Dean and has responsibility for the delivery of high-quality postgraduate programs as well as overseeing the development and delivery of Enterprise courses related to Education.

Fostering a collaborative, professional and inclusive School culture, this role will work closely with the School’s leadership team to focus on enhancing ECU’s national and international Postgraduate Studies and Enterprise profile. While guiding academic staff performance and development within Postgraduate Studies, the Enterprise component of this role encompasses:

The development of viable and productive fee paying short courses (including professional development courses and accredited professional development courses)

Benchmarking against regulatory authority requirements

The development of external competitive tender applications

The Person
The ideal candidate will be a Senior Lecturer (Level C) or an Associate Professor (Level D) with expertise in a relevant area such as Educational Leadership or leadership in a relevant educational area/discipline who has a demonstrated record of outstanding academic leadership. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

A strong background in building strategic relationships

A creative approach, demonstrating innovation and innovative practice

Sound risk management and strategic thinking

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, ongoing position of Associate Professor attracts a remuneration of $149,267 - $164, 111 pa (Level D) . The fixed-term Associate Dean appointment (initial term of three years) will attract additional remuneration as outlined in the University’s Academic Leadership Roles policy. In addition, ECU pays 17% University superannuation contribution.
