ABOUT THE ROLE

The teacher, VCAL Nursing provides professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance ensuring excellent outcomes for learners in the VCAL program.

This position focuses on excellence in planning and conducting teaching and assessment. The role also includes resource development and educational administration.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
  • Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning styles
  • Design and develop teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying project requirements and learning styles.
  • Enhance the student experience to improve engagement early on and assist learners to interact with their academic and social environment
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning through a student based approach and adaptive curriculum
  • Engage with employers and industry representatives to ensure teaching materials and content meet industry and employer needs and are current
  • Adapt teaching materials to meet industry needs and specific tailored programs and projects

ABOUT YOU

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or qualifications that meet the Standards for RTOs 2015.
  • Vocational qualifications at AQF level Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent 
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience 
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Crucial to your success will be your strong understanding of contemporary approaches to education, teaching and learning. You will have the ability to quickly develop rapport with a young cohort of students and with colleagues from a diverse background in a collaborative and innovative environment.

To succeed in this role you will need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances while displaying exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will be result orientated and committed to professional development.
