Full Job Description
The role of the Community Education Instructor is to deliver and enhance community education through first aid instruction, training, quality assurance of course content and delivery, and mentoring of other first aid instructors.

The position undertakes and delivers community education activities, primarily conducting first aid training courses and providing advice to industry representatives and the community on first aid preparedness.

The Community Education Instructor provides high quality training and educational services tailored to meet community needs and expectations, which reflect contemporary patient care standards to ensure the educational and clinical governance objectives of the QAS are met.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent is mandatory.

Possession of current vocational competencies (i.e. relevant first aid training qualifications from a recognised nationally accredited training provider), with the minimum standard being Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001/009) and Provide First Aid (HLTAID003/011) qualifications is highly desirable.

Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland 'C' Class Driver's Licence.

Applicants are expected to provide their own transportation to attend training venues.

A flexible approach to working hours is required, as training may be conducted outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Applicants may be required to work away from their local area on occasion, for periods of up to one week, relative to state training demands

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

Demonstrated experience and capability in delivering and assessing high quality first aid training and educational services to a diverse range of clients.

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to contemporary, best practice education principles and practices, including adult learning and development methodologies.

Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), RTO regulatory standards, and relevant QAS policies and procedures.

Demonstrated understanding of the need for industry currency and a proven commitment to ongoing professional development as it relates to employment within the VET sector.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to effectively interact with and educate a broad range of clients and stakeholders.
