Position details

:Santa Maria College is an all girls' Catholic College, founded by the Sisters of Mercy with 1,280 students from Year 5 to Year 12 which includes 150 boarders. Our boarding students live in our four boarding houses overlooking the Swan River in Attadale and are cared for by eight Boarding Supervisors. We provide a positive, nurturing environment for our girls and a friendly and supportive work place for our staff.
The role is a full-time fixed term position, commencing in Term 2 2021 until the end of 2021, with the possibility of on-going. The role is live in during rostered shifts and live out during unrostered shifts.
The Boarding Supervisor directly manages girls from Years 7 to 12 living away from home in a Boarding House. This role is Term time only and is in partnership with another Boarding Supervisor.
The role of the Boarding Supervisor is to:

  • Promote the Catholic/Mercy ethos of the College.
  • Supervise and care for girls within your House with compassion, consistency and fairness.
  • Mentor and guide students in study time.
  • Support and supervise girls' involvement in recreational activities, outings and off campus functions.
  • Oversee the health/medical care of the girls in your House in conjunction with the College Nurse.
  • Establish positive connections with the girls' families.
  • Maintain a positive, clean, safe and well maintained House
    The successful applicant will require the following:
  • Compassion for and interest in young people.
  • Experience in other boarding roles will be highly regarded
  • Empathy and patience.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Highly developed communication skills.
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Working With Children Check
  • Nationally Co-ordinated Criminal History Check
  • Completion of 'Duty of Care' course
  • Confidence in driving 12 seat commuter van.
  • Well developed Information Technology skills
  • F class bus license is desirable.
