This is a fixed-term Policy Officer job in the School Readiness Funding Unit for ten months.

An exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer exists within the School Readiness Funding Unit at the Department of Education and Training.

School Readiness Funding is a permanent and ongoing part of the Victorian kindergarten funding model. It addresses educational disadvantage, and funds programs and supports that builds the capacity of kindergarten services, educators and families to support children's learning and development outcomes.

The School Readiness Funding unit leads the implementation of the School Readiness Funding, a key early childhood reform initiative in the Early Childhood Reform Plan, in collaboration with other central and regional teams across the Department of Education and Training, as well as the sector.

This role supports the development of policy, policy translation, and policy advice to ensure the effective implementation of School Readiness Funding. The role is required to work closely with Departmental colleagues in the Business Support Unit to support the timely and accurate processing of payments to services, ensuring funding commitments to services are made. It is also required to participate in the development of reports, briefings, presentations and correspondence as required.

The role is a fixed-term 10 month position and part-time and flexible work arrangements will be considered.
