About the role

This position is within the Students Portfolio. The Students Portfolio brings together all the student facing services, ensuring the department provides a seamless end to end student facing service. committed to providing an outstanding experience for students and clear support for staff. The department works in close partnership with its stakeholders (students, staff, industry, and community) across the Portfolio they provide excellent service. To achieve this objective, they place students and academics at the centre of everything they do.

The Coordinator, Student Partnerships will support the coordination of university-wide student leadership and volunteering programs. They will further help to design and implement advertising, informational and support materials to ensure the high impact of all programs.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Contribute towards the development and implementation of core activities relating to student volunteering, leadership, and partnership.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that student leadership and volunteering activities are designed, developed, and delivered within local, regional and broader La Trobe contexts.
  • Coordinate tasks such as organising workshops, events, student training, and other student- related stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining records/reports to evidence and analyse student leadership and volunteering engagement patterns and satisfaction.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance, rostering, taking minutes, creating surveys, maintaining databases (on excel or other platforms), drafting summaries and reports, and creating newsletters and/or other advertisement materials.
  • Design and/or delivers a variety of support services and tools (e.g., training/promotional materials, online platforms) to maximise quality, efficiency and continuity of leadership and volunteering activities.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of policies, systems and procedures in own unit and an understands how they relate to and impact on any related areas based on an understanding of relevant policies and systems in those related areas.
  • Liaises, communicates and builds relationships within La Trobe as well as with outside bodies to Undertake other duties as directed by the Academic Coordinator, Student Partnerships and Deputy Director, Advising & Success.
Skills & Experience

To be successful you will have:
  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows and outputs within own area of responsibility.
  • Organisational project management skills to deliver projects and program on time and on budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to drive engagement with diverse stakeholders, particularly students,
  • Ability to navigate systems and platforms to support administrative tasks, such as maintaining databases, rostering, and tracking engagement.
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven examples of how to plan and deliver innovative solutions.
