· We are seeking educators with a passion for online education to work with us on delivering post-graduate level intensive 10-week online course in Service Futures for our Australian client.

Course Description

Examine the practice and principles of service design and investigate how human-centred design tools and approaches can define problems and improve the quality of a service.

  • Articulate how service design supports activities in a range of fields, including corporate, social and public sectors.
  • Apply a range of design processes and principles such as thinking in critical, systemic and holistic ways to analyse complex systems and issues.
  • Critically reflect on the role of a designer within human-centred approaches to service design.
  • Evaluate service design solutions from real-world contexts and propose solutions.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Utilise design research methods to identify and investigate contemporary service problems. 
  • Apply skills and knowledge of service design practices and strategy to engage stakeholders, frame problems, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Articulate your final design solution using various tools to create artefacts such as customer journey maps, service blueprints, and a service prototype.
  • Work autonomously and collaborate with others in diverse contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness, and ethical and reflective practice.
  • Identify the next steps to develop your professional skills and future learning as a service designer.

Must haves

  • At least relevant Master’s degree or PhD degree.
  • Substantial work experience, preferably in the related subject matter
  • Significant industry experience
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation & planning skills
  • Confidence and resourcefulness in learning new technologies, such as Canvas Learning management System and Collaborate Ultra, Zoom
  • High levels of empathy for the challenges experienced by online students
  • A passion for helping online students succeed both academically and personally

Requirements of the role

  • Delivery of planned academic content
  • Facilitating learning activities and assessment tasks (including e-moderation, assessment and feedback)
  • Marking, processing and submitting assessment results
  • Online facilitators are not required to establish curriculum, design learning activities, schedule learning and teaching, set assessments or develop marking schemes.
