About The Role

Our Diplomas STEM team has a vacancy for two qualified and experienced IT teachers.
As an IT Teacher within our Diploma program (first year university level), you will be responsible for the delivery (tutorial and lectures) of high quality teaching (face to face and online) and learning for our international students who are transitioning into Monash University. You will be teaching across our core IT units, including Introduction to Computer Systems, Networks and Security, Fundamentals of C++ and Introduction to Algorithms and Programming (Python). Diploma classes are scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. There may be a requirement to teach classes outside of these hours.

These roles will entail:
  • Flexible teaching practices including blended learning models of delivery, online delivery using Zoom and other online collaborative platforms and best use of technology in the classroom
  • Development and contribution to improvements in curriculum and assessment
  • Active participation in assessment, exam marking and moderation
  • Use of learning analytics to better improve student learning outcomes
  • Participate in professional learning activities focusing on continued development in learning and teaching


About You

We are seeking applicants who are able to bring a student focused and interactive teaching approach, along with the ability to utilise effective technology in achieving student learning outcomes. The successful applicant will be adaptable and quality orientated, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. As a Teacher at Monash College, you will play an integral role in providing our students with an enriching educational experience.

What You Will Have
  • A relevant tertiary (minimum undergrad) qualification. Qualification in teaching/Education is highly desirable
  • Previous experience teaching Introduction to Computer Systems, Networks and Security, Fundamentals of C++ and Introduction to Algorithms and Programming (Python) or similar units at a tertiary or pre-university level to international cohorts
  • Experience in a relevant industry and knowledge of current methods, practices and developments
  • The ability to adapt teaching practices to suit group and individual learning needs, including working with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Experience using innovative approaches to teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment
  • Experience with blended learning models of delivery, online delivery using Zoom and other online platforms with best use of technology in the classroom

  • Salary - $75,568 - $108,265 + 9.5% super dependent o n qualifications and experience (the successful applicant will be required to complete a teaching declaration process to determine classification and salary level)
  • Location - this role is based at our Bourke Street campus with the need to work remotely as required. We will be relocating to a new campus in the Docklands in the second half of this year
