You will collaboratively lead the development and consistency of quality teaching and learning designed to improve the educational outcomes of students at Balaclava State School. You will need to be professional, and have a strong relational capability to nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders. You will have well developed strategic thinking and analytical skills to contribute to our school improvement agenda with strong organisational skills, and an ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks within timeframes in a positive, high paced school environment.

Your Role

The role of Deputy Principal is critical in ensuring that we are improving education outcomes for our full range of students by assisting the principal to lead and implement the shared education vision of our school: Connect - Commit - Excel. The role includes but is not limited to:

Leading the development and consistency of quality teaching and learning designed to improve the educational outcomes of students at Balaclava State School and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
Operating with a strategic, futures-oriented focus and in a highly organised manner to achieve identified goals and effectively line manage and supervise middle leaders and teaching staff.
Leading by example through values based, ethical and moral behaviours setting high standards for staff performance and are compliant with legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
Demonstrated well-developed professional skills and interpersonal skills, empathy, self-awareness and the ability to build trust when dealing with sensitive situations.
And other suitable duties consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed/delegated or deputised by the Principal.
Prior approval for release from your current Principal is required.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
