Associate Dean (Engagement), ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science

The Australian National University (ANU) College of Engineering and Computer Science is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to invigorate the engagement strategy for the College and make a positive difference to the way that Australia and the world engage with technology.

The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is an exceptional community of students, educators, scholars and researchers who embrace the breadth of the computing and engineering professions. CECS is composed of a diverse and vibrant community dedicated to discovery and to making knowledge matter. Academics and students are engaged in ground-breaking, cutting-edge research, in exciting areas such as renewable energy, robotics, telecommunications, biomaterials, human-machine interaction and artificial intelligence.

CECS launched Reimagine in 2019, a 15 year investment commitment focusing on CECS capability and capacity building. Through Reimagine, CECS is aiming to attract the best and brightest problem finders and develop the people who will find the right kinds of problems, the solving of which are truly transformational. The Associate Dean (Engagement) provides leadership to the College on the delivery of the Meaningful Engagement pillar of the Reimagine Engineering and Computer Science Strategic Intent 2019 - 2025.

The Associate Dean (Engagement) reporting to the College Deputy Dean will engage broadly within and beyond the University with government and industry to identify and engage strategic partners and actively establish opportunities for the exchange of ideas to work towards a shared view of the future. The Associate Dean (Engagement) will draw on their deep understanding and experience promoting and facilitating high-quality engagement initiatives from development through to successful implementation.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience in high-level business engagement, partnerships and networking abilities along with people management skills to develop and implement strategic projects to achieve desired changes. The ideal candidate will be a visionary Leader with sophisticated interpersonal, liaison and consultation skills with a strong interest in transformation and experience leading consultation processes in large complex organisations relevant to the goals of the College and University.
