Bardon State School is looking for an aspiring leader in the field of inclusion to join our Active Learning Team as an Inclusion Teacher until 10 December 2021. This role is currently advertised to have a sharp and narrow focus with our Year 3 and Year 4 cohorts however does have the flexibility to be working across the school at times.

At we have an innovative approach to supporting inclusion and supporting diverse learners. Our inclusion team is referred to as our Active Learning Team (ALT) making reference to the importance in ensuring that all students are supported with their next steps in their learning journey, offering support and extension when required, to ensure they can be active learners each day. ALT teachers work in the form of a co-teacher role, supporting the classroom teacher to provide targeted teaching.

This role will require experience with working with diverse learners as well as students with disabilities. The ALT teacher will work alongside 2 other ALT teachers, a visiting SLP, a Guidance Officer (0.4) and a Chaplain (0.2). You will be supported by the Deputy Principal and there are multiple opportunities for capability building in the form of leading school projects, and as a stepping stone to applying for HOSES positions.

We are a school that provides a balance of explicit and inquiry learning opportunities through the support of the Walker Learning pedagogies. Having engaged in the Feedback for Learning Project we also provide a unique approach to cohort meetings, providing an additional hour for cohorts to come offline to meet with their ALT teacher and Leadership team to support the teaching and learning each week.
