Visitor Services Guide (Environmental Education Ranger)

  • Salary $60,531.64 - $70,216.93 p/a + super
  • Permanent full-time role - 35 hours per week
  • Working with Children Check Clearance

Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 127,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.

Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to join our team of Visitor Services Guides based at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Deliver weekday and weekend environmental education activities such as birthday parties, school excursions and school holiday activities for children
  • Assist in program development of environmental education activities and responding to public enquiries
  • Help maintain outdoor facilities, education resources and natural areas at the Wildflower Garden.
Required Qualifications/Certificates:
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Class C Driver's license
  • Working With Children Check Clearance
Required Experience/Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of native Sydney flora, fauna and ecosystems
  • Experience and ability in environmental education and interpretation with children and adults
  • Expertise and ability in leading groups in outdoor natural settings
  • Exceptional customer service skills including addressing enquiries, resolution of complaints, and responding to emergencies
  • Commitment to taking responsibility for delivering the best possible service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in connecting with children and adults, including those with special needs or of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
**This role comprises varying hours across the week and will be required to undertake regular evening and weekend work as required**
