About The Role

Working closely with the Head of College, the Business Manager is responsible for the management of the College’s business affairs, including finance, property, facilities, and operational services including outsourced contracts (such as for IT, catering, cleaning, and painting). Ensuring smooth day-to-day College operations and administration, the Business Manager is also responsible for human resources, data management, conferences and events, and other business development, and legal and risk management.


To be eligible for this role, you will need to meet these selection criteria

  • Extensive relevant work experience in a senior management role, with an aptitude for effective financial, operational, and HR management
  • A commitment to the vision and values of St Mark’s College as a values-based residential academic community

  • Ability to combine strategic vision with operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and proposals with clarity and precision

  • Demonstrated capacity to ensure staff accountability for high performance in a friendly, efficient, “can do” staff team
  • Demonstrated skills in implementing significant improvement in processes, systems, and data management
