Classification: Level 4 (hourly rate $31.47 - $32.46 pending experience)
Hours: 15hpw

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for the position of Indigenous Education Liaison Officer.

About You
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educator for the position of Indigenous Education Liaison Officer to join our team at Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, Longreach. This is a term-time contract position (15 HPW) commencing during Term 2, 2021 until 3 December 2021.

The successful applicant will service the educational mission by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous Education. In doing so, advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families, communities, teachers and school.

You will possess an understanding of and a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education.

Indigenous Education Liaison Officer - Position Description

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, as well as issues affecting them
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families
An ability to liaise between teachers, Indigenous students and their parents/carers and should have a genuine interest in supporting students and their communities.

It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples, as permitted and arguable under Section 25, 104 and 105 of the Qld Anti-Discrimination Act of 1991.
