Early Childhood Improvement Branches have been progressively created across the state over three years to deliver significant Victorian Government early childhood initiatives. Within the Branch, Kindergarten Improvement Advisors will work collaboratively with kindergarten services through reflective discussion, advice and support to improve the quality and capability of funded kindergarten services.

Within the Branch, Kindergarten Improvement Advisors will work collaboratively with kindergarten services through reflective discussion, advice and support to improve the quality and capability of funded kindergarten services.

The main purpose of this role is to support and coordinate the implementation of Area wide Early Learning Leadership Forums (ELLFs) and geographically based Kindergarten Networks.

You will need to draw on past experience in an educational context, with a strong understanding of the early childhood education and care system. The role will actively seek to provide high quality opportunities for early childhood professionals to work and learn together, using data to identify and reflect on local issues and problems of practice, and developing solutions that will lead to improved outcomes for children.

To be successful in this role you should have excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of quality pedagogical practices. Knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) would be an advantage, as would group facilitation skills and experience. You will play a lead role in strengthening early childhood service collaboration, which will ultimately support services through a time of significant reform activity, help create a culture of trust and reflection, and improve transitions for children and families between services and into school. Flexibility will be required during periods of surge activity.

Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Education - Early Childhood
Relevant tertiary qualification in early childhood or other clearly relevant and transferrable knowledge and skills

Work Location: Glen Waverley Office, Inner Eastern Melbourne, North East Victoria Region.

Time Fraction: 0.9 FTE, part time, ongoing
