About the role:

The Regional Education Manager - Student Experience develops strategies that work on site and across sites to ensure that wherever possible the student experience is an integrated one. Incorporating aspects of all of Box Hill Institute’s strategic themes, this role particularly focuses on the Student at the Heart theme.

The Regional Education Manager – Student Experience is part of the Corrections Education Leadership team based at Box Hill Institute’s Elgar campus. It is one of three unique roles that are responsible for developing and implementing projects, which benefit the whole of Corrections Education. Each role has a defined area of responsibility that will change as new priorities and opportunities emerge. Each Regional Education Manager will also have responsibility for managing the course set up and training and assessment strategies for approximately one third of the courses delivered by Corrections Education.

The Regional Education Manager-Student Experience works closely with the Site Education Managers in the Hume region to ensure that delivery of nationally accredited training programs is each site meets all KPI’s.

Regional Education Managers will be required to attend prison sites from time to time for meetings and to possibly provide backfill when a Site Education Manager is on leave for an extended period.

Your skills and experience:

Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in Business Management, Education Management or equivalent.
  • A minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) is essential, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training preferred.
  • Vocational experience and/or experience in quality and validation audits within the TAFE sector desired
People Management: Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring staff to achieve quality outcomes in defined timeframes - translates project strategies into meaningful objectives, builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction and delegating responsibilities appropriately, motivates others to achieve outcomes.

Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to lead projects including gathering information, developing project plans and timelines, implementing and managing project outcomes in a timely fashion. Experience in driving several projects simultaneously.

Student Management Systems: Demonstrable experience and familiarity with the requirements of student enrolment, including pre-training review, and student management systems.

Vocational Education Expertise: Significant experience in developing and leading others to deliver innovative nationally accredited training programs that meet contractual requirements, the needs of learners, excellent standards in academic quality and all regulatory requirements.

Program Delivery: Significant experience in business management roles within a related sector including developing and leading a team in the delivery of innovative programs whilst achieving KPI’s. This includes proven ability to anticipate potential problems and work with stakeholders to implement courses of action to ensure delivery and manage employer reputation.

Influence and Negotiation: Implements strategies to achieve buy-in and support from key stakeholders utilising a variety of tailored influencing approaches. Proven success in managing collaborative stakeholder relationships to balance a range of complex and competing needs and develop mutually beneficial outcomes. The ability to identify mutually beneficial partnerships and find innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.

Drive and Commitment: Energetic, innovative and resilient with demonstrable capacity to balance competing priorities and thrive in a consistently changing environment. Demonstrates the capacity for sustained effort and hard work, setting high standards for performance of self and others. This position requires the ability to drive innovation whilst mentoring staff so that they are enthusiastic, confident and engaged

Technical Skills: Must be highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and online meeting platforms (i.e. MS Teams). Must be proficient in the use of online learning platforms with knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn Moodle.
