Your new role
The opportunity exists to take on this 12 month fixed term contract, that is in term time only. As a School Counsellor you will provide an essential service within the school. You will be responsible for assessing the wellbeing needs of individuals and groups as determined with the Wellbeing team. You will advocate for positive education and make recommendations around imitating counselling for both individuals and families. As part of the Wellbeing team you will participate in meetings for primary and high school students and provide information on year specific programmes, as well as guidance and advice on mental health wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualification in Psychology or Counselling, registered with appropriate governing body
  • Minimum 2 years experience supporting children and adolescents in a school setting
  • Confidence using psychological & educational assessments to determine emotional and psychological wellbeing
  • Experience working with various mental health issues
  • Strong coordination experience regarding client notes, referral management and writing reports
  • Qualified to inform school policy based on training, experience and expertise
  • WWCC and Police Check clearance
