About the role

HR Services delivers a comprehensive suite of services to over 1800 employees working at the University. The role of HR Services is to provide high quality and efficient services to support the employment and management of University employees. As part of the broader HR team, the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety policies, procedures and initiatives across the University.

The WHS Advisor provides proactive advice to University staff on workplace health and safety, risk management and injury management, and contributes to the development and improvement of policies, programs and activities to ensure the University is meeting legislative requirements, provides a healthy and safe place to work and study, and optimises the productivity of the workforce.

The remuneration package for this position is up to $94,351 per annum (inclusive of base salary $72,472-$80,642 per annum and 17% employers contribution to superannuation).

About you

As a recent graduate with WHS or HR qualifications, you will have contemporary knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety legislation, workers compensation and return to work processes.

To be successful you will demonstrate your ability to interpret, apply and communicate legislation, policies and procedures. You will have well-developed communication skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution and diplomacy.
